ASE grow their organisation using Appogee HR Success
Founded in 2005, ASE Direct (ASE) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). ASE strives to be a data-driven company that provides industry-leading, high-demand products, services, and solutions to drive significant savings and growth for our clients, partners, and stakeholders. Through superior customer service, ASE has received the Inc., 500 Award five years in a row, the Largest Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business in Tennessee by the Nashville Business Journal for two consecutive years, and the HealthTrust Supplier Diversity Award in 2019.
ASE Direct has been using Appogee HR to manage employee Leave & Sickness, streamline employee data and accelerate their HR processes since 2013. The company initially started off with the Appogee Leave package as a way to track attendance. This was successfully implemented across the business and was easily scalable while they grew from a handful of employees to nearly 50 within just a few years.
In 2018, ASE reached out to Appogee HR with a requirement to store and manage employee data for their growing organization, so they upgraded to the HR Essentials package. This was a real turning point for the organization, “it gave ASE visibility for employees and managers to not only track time off, but manage it proficiently” says Britt Chavers, Office and Human Resources Manager. “It’s extremely thorough and allows for deep customization to fit your organization’s needs”.
Moving to HR Success
Fast forward 2 years and ASE were looking for a way to improve their performance management across the organization and Britt reached out to the Customer Success team at Appogee HR to see how they could help. The HR Success package was exactly what ASE was looking for, “We recently implemented the Goals and Performance Reviews portion of HR Success and it has been an incredibly helpful tool. From the 360 Feedback to the actual review questions, I feel this has been a game-changer for our company culture”.
Britt praises the collaboration tools and employee engagement features within the HR Success package and attributes employee growth and development within the business to the system. “This has given both our employees and managers a specific place to speak their truth and have everything organized in one spot. It has truly fostered a culture of learning and of growth because it allows everyone involved a safe space to vocalize their opinions and thoughts. It also has enabled opportunities to push employees forward in areas where they might have shortcomings”.

When asked whether she would recommend Appogee HR, Britt couldn’t be more complimentary of the solution and the team, “Oh absolutely! I really like how Appogee is not just the HR platform, but it's an entire company of people backing it also”. The Appogee HR Customer Success Team have worked closely with Britt during the upgrade process and this customer-centric approach has had some real benefits for ASE - “there have been times where I have offered a suggestion or two, and then Appogee's developers truly listen and put those items into play”.
