Hi there Adam, welcome to the team! Tell us a little bit about yourself…

I’m Adam, and I’m the new Business Development Specialist at Appogee HR! My background is largely in retail and the leisure and tourism industry, and I’ve always had an interest in tech and HR. Outside of work I spend my time either socialising, reading, or spending time with my dogs. 

What appealed to you most about working at Appogee HR?

The impression I got of Appogee HR from my interviews was extremely positive, and that was a big part of why I wanted to work here! Meeting the team I could tell that Appogee HR had the inclusive, supportive and fun environment that I was looking for, and it seems like I’ve joined at an exciting time! Also, having some experience in admin myself I can definitely see the value in software that streamlines processes and can fully invest myself in Appogee HR’s goal of making HR more simple, personal, and accessible. 

Is there anything you’re really looking forward to getting involved in?

At the moment I’ve been spending my time really getting to know Appogee HR’s solutions and services, so I can’t wait to put this to good use by putting myself out there, meeting people, and helping businesses transform their HR. I’d consider myself a fairly ambitious person and Appogee HR definitely seems like an environment conducive to that, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.

What’s the most exciting advancement in technology in your opinion?

There’s a lot to be excited about in terms of technology, it’s hard to pin down any one thing! I’d say in particular that the future of AI is particularly interesting as there are so many different applications for it in healthcare, commerce, transport, the way we work etc. 

What did you want to be when you were a kid?

As a child I initially aspired to be Fred from Scooby Doo. Unfortunately riding around in a van solving mysteries with a great dane isn’t the most viable career path, so working in tech is the next best thing.

How do you take your tea/coffee?

I’m definitely more of a coffee than a tea person- it’s what keeps me going! I like all kinds of coffee but recently I’ve been partial to a good Cappuccino.

Favourite book and why?

That’s an impossible question! I’d say either Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy or anything by Steven King. Hitchhiker's Guide is such an iconic piece of sci-fi, but I’ve never read a Stephen King novel I didn’t love. Pass?
